App reskinning is the practice of taking an existing app's underlying code or template and changing its visual assets -- graphics, branding, sounds, and names -- to create a seemingly new app, most common in mobile game development. Small studios and solo developers use it to quickly launch multiple apps from one codebase, reducing development time and cost. It's especially prevalent in the hyper-casual mobile game market where studios test many variants cheaply.
