Amazon Lumberyard was a free, cross-platform 3D game engine launched by AWS in 2016, built on a fork of CryEngine and deeply integrated with AWS cloud services and Twitch. It was used by game developers to build AAA-quality games with built-in multiplayer and live-streaming features. Amazon discontinued it in 2021, transitioning the project to the Open 3D Engine (O3DE) open-source foundation.
