The abacus is an ancient manual calculating tool consisting of a frame with rods or wires holding movable beads, used to perform arithmetic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It remains in use today in parts of Asia for education and mental math training, teaching number sense and calculation speed to students.
