# Target Posted 327 New Roles This Week — More Than Half Its 600 Open Listings | Career App Daily

*August 30, 2026, by Ben Garves*

[Target](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/target) added **327 new postings** this week across the employer boards we track — the largest single-employer count in our data for the period. Its total open listings stand at **600**. That means roughly 55% of everything Target currently has open went up in the last seven days.

That ratio is the more interesting number. A big open-roles total can be old inventory; a big new-roles number against a modest total means the board turned over fast.

## Where Target sits among this week's most active employers

Target led on new postings, but not on total open roles. [Cleveland Clinic](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/cleveland-clinic) added 294 new listings and carries 911 open — the largest open pool in the top ten. [NVIDIA](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/nvidia) added 176 against 832 open, the slowest turnover of the group at about 21%.

By the same new-versus-open measure, two employers churned even harder than Target this week: [Marriott International](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/marriott-international) at 231 new against 243 open, and [Albertsons](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/albertsons) at 123 new against 153 open. Both are effectively fresh boards. [Merck](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/merck) was close to Target's mark at 171 new against 347 open.

The rest of the top ten: [Tyson Foods](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/tyson-foods) (220 new, 595 open), [Accenture](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/accenture) (169 new, 593 open), [Medtronic](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/medtronic) (151 new, 380 open), and [SAP](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/sap) (115 new, 397 open).

## What we can't tell you

Be clear about the limits here. Our occupation and skills breakdowns came back empty for this period, so we have no employer-level view of what kinds of roles Target posted — no split between store, distribution, or corporate work, and no title-level detail. We are not going to guess at it. If you want to see the actual listings, they sit on the [Target employer page](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/target) and in [job search](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs).

We also can't attribute state-level activity to any single employer from this packet. What we can say is what the state data shows on its own. [Minnesota](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/minnesota) went from 1 new posting in the prior week to **61** this week, and [Arkansas](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/arkansas) from 1 to **58** — the two sharpest proportional jumps among the twelve states with openings. [California](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/california) led on volume with 478 new (up from 322), followed by [New York](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/new-york) at 240 (down from 264) and [Texas](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/texas) at 205 (up from 83). [Georgia](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/georgia) more than quintupled, 17 to 97. Whether any of that overlaps with Target's 327 is not something this data resolves.

## The backdrop

Across all boards we track: **57,025** open listings from **691** employers hiring, with **10,403** new in the last seven days and **20,259** closed in the same stretch. More listings came down than went up. Only 5% of new postings were remote, and openings appear in just 12 states — that's a narrow geographic footprint, and it's a property of the boards we crawl, not a statement about the country.

On the like-for-like comparison basis — boards we were already tracking before the comparison window began, so newly onboarded boards don't read as hiring booms — new postings came in at **3,999** this week against **1,883** the prior week. That's the cleanest week-over-week signal we have, and it points up.

Salary context, for what it covers: employer-posted ranges annualized to USD show [Machine Learning Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/machine-learning-engineer) at a $280,000 median across 115 listings and [Engineering Manager](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/engineering-manager) at $279,500 across 234. The deepest pool is [Software Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/software-engineer) at $240,000 across 1,276 listings. None of these figures are broken out by employer, so they say nothing specific about Target.

This is observation of what showed up on the boards, not a judgment about any employer. Details on collection are on [how we crawl employer boards](https://career.thegoodapps.co/bot).
