# New York Added 386 New Roles This Week, Up 11.6% While the National Week Rose 22.6%

New York picked up **386 new listings** this week across the employer boards we track, against 346 the week before. That is a gain of 40 roles, or 11.6% — the smallest percentage increase among the top states that grew at all, and less than half the pace of the week overall.

9,629 roles opened in the last seven days versus 7,852 the prior week, a 22.6% rise. [Jobs in New York](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/new-york) made up 4.0% of that new supply, down from 4.4% a week earlier. The state stayed fourth by volume, but it is holding its rank on a flat line while the states around it move.

## Where New York sits among the top states

[California](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/california) led with 762 new roles (up from 602), [Texas](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/texas) posted 555 (up from 370), and [Florida](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/florida) went from 204 to 424 — a 107.8% jump, the second-steepest in the group behind [Colorado](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/colorado), which more than doubled from 91 to 199.

[New Jersey](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/new-jersey) added 191 new roles against 115 last week, up 66.1%. [Pennsylvania](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/pennsylvania) went from 132 to 235, up 78.0%. Both are smaller markets on our boards than New York, and both grew roughly six or seven times faster this week. [Massachusetts](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/massachusetts) rose 21.5% to 164.

Not everything rose. [Tennessee](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/tennessee) slipped from 232 to 222, [Ohio](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/ohio) from 191 to 183, and [Illinois](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs/in/illinois) from 196 to 171. Measured against that, New York's flat-ish week looks less like weakness than like a market that simply did not participate in the surge.

## Who was posting

Employer counts in this week's data are network-wide rather than broken out by state, so treat the leaderboard as context for the week New York was part of, not as a New York hiring list. The heaviest posters were [AdventHealth](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/adventhealth) with 669 new roles and 992 open in total, [Merck](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/merck) with 368 new and 584 open, [U.S. Bank](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/u-s-bank) with 315 new against the largest open book in the group at 1,007, and [Target](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/target) with 301 new and 673 open.

[Citigroup](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/citigroup) posted 289 new roles (476 open), [Stryker Corporation](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/stryker-corporation) 262 (749 open), [Tyson Foods](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/tyson-foods) 223, [Cleveland Clinic](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/cleveland-clinic) 199 against 905 open, [Marriott International](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/marriott-international) 189, and [Boeing](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/boeing) 175. Health systems, banks, and med-tech carried the week; between them those ten employers account for a large share of the 9,629 roles that opened.

## The wider picture

There are 57,629 listings open right now from 685 employers with postings across 12 states. Churn is heavy: 18,672 roles closed in the same seven days that 9,629 opened, so the open pool is shrinking even as new supply rises. Remote roles were 3% of everything posted this week.

On pay, employer-posted ranges annualized to USD put [Software Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/software-engineer) at a median of $240,000 across 1,062 listings — the deepest salaried pool on the site. [Machine Learning Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/machine-learning-engineer) posts higher at $283,500, but on only 93 listings, and [Engineering Manager](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/engineering-manager) sits at $278,425 across 192. [Sales Representative](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/sales-representative) is the outlier at the other end, $79,698 across 140 listings. Those medians are national across our boards, not New York-specific.

Month to month, the network is close to flat: 29,146 new roles in the last 30 days versus 28,483 in the 30 before. This week's jump is a weekly move, not yet a trend.
