# Merck Posted 368 Roles in Seven Days — 63% of Its Open Board | Career App Daily

*September 12, 2026, by Ben Garves*

Nearly two-thirds of [Merck](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/merck)'s currently open listings on the boards we track went up in the last seven days. The company posted 368 new roles this week against an open total of 584 — the largest new-role count of any employer we crawled, and a ratio that says most of what's live right now is fresh.

That 368 is about 3.7% of the 9,972 new listings we recorded across all tracked boards in the last seven days. For a single employer out of 686 hiring, that's a large slice.

## How Merck compares to the rest of the top ten

No other employer added more this week. [U.S. Bank](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/u-s-bank) was second with 315 new, [Target](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/target) third with 301, then [Citigroup](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/citigroup) at 289 and [Meijer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/meijer) at 269. [Stryker Corporation](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/stryker-corporation) added 262, [Ranger Boats](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/ranger-boats) 237, [Jabil](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/jabil) 234, [JLL](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/jll) 230 and [Tyson Foods](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/tyson-foods) 223.

Merck's 584 open roles are mid-pack — U.S. Bank carries 1,007, Stryker 749, Jabil 734, Ranger Boats 716. What separates Merck is how much of its board turned over. At 368 new out of 584 open, 63% of Merck's live listings are seven days old or less. Among the ten busiest employers, only JLL ran hotter (230 of 295 open, 78%). At the other end, U.S. Bank's 315 new represent 31% of its much bigger open board, and Jabil's 234 work out to 32%.

A high new-to-open ratio can mean a genuine hiring push, a batch re-post, or a board that clears quickly. Our crawl records what's posted, not why. Worth noting that across all tracked boards this week we logged 18,780 closures against 9,972 new listings — churn is running well ahead of net additions site-wide, so a fresh-looking board isn't automatically a growing one.

## The week in context

Hiring activity across the boards we track picked up broadly: 9,972 new listings this week against 7,440 the prior week, up 34%. Over 30 days, 32,947 new listings against 24,574 in the prior 30. Those comparisons cover only boards we were already crawling before the window opened, so newly onboarded employers don't inflate the trend. Total open listings stand at 57,521 across 686 employers and 12 states, with remote roles at 4% of new postings.

Merck's week, in other words, landed inside a generally busier week — but 368 new roles from one employer is a standalone number, not a rounding artifact of rising volume.

If you want to look at the listings themselves, they're on the [Merck](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/merck) board and in [Job search](https://career.thegoodapps.co/jobs). For how these counts are gathered, see [how we crawl employer boards](https://career.thegoodapps.co/bot). Everything here describes the employer job boards Career App tracks — not the wider labor market.
