# Financial Manager Posted Median Falls to $153,500 — On Eight Listings | Career App Daily

The posted median for [Financial Manager](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/financial-manager) roles across the boards we track fell from **$236,500** in the 30 days before last month to **$153,500** in the last 30 days — a drop of $83,000, or about 35%.

Before anyone reads that as a pay cut: the prior-30 median rests on **9 listings** and the last-30 median rests on **8**. Seventeen postings in total. These are employer-posted salary ranges, annualized to USD (hourly converted at 2,080 hours), not self-reported pay. At that pool size, a single unusually rich or unusually lean posting moves the midpoint by tens of thousands of dollars. Treat the direction as a hint and the magnitude as noise.

## The whole priced list moved the same way

The more useful signal isn't Financial Manager on its own — it's that every occupation with a measurable posted-salary move went down, and all eight went down hard.

[Human Resources Business Partner](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/human-resources-business-partner) went from $185,000 to $110,000. [Compliance Officer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/compliance-officer) held up best and still lost 24%, from $277,625 to $212,000. Financial Manager sits third-steepest.

When eight of eight fall between 24% and 42%, the likeliest explanation is compositional, not compensational. Look at the pool sizes: [Engineering Manager](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/engineering-manager) had 190 priced listings in the prior 30 days and 12 in the last 30. [Mechanical Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/mechanical-engineer) went from 83 to 13. Account Executive from 155 to 11. The set of employers publishing salary ranges in the last month is a different, much smaller set than the month before — and it is paying differently.

Financial Manager is the exception to that collapse: 9 listings then, 8 now. Its pool didn't shrink; it was always small. So the 35% drop there is one thin sample against another thin sample, with no volume story underneath it.

## Where Financial Manager sits against the priced field

Financial Manager does not appear in the ten occupations with the deepest posted-salary pools on Career App. The smallest pool in that top ten — [Marketing Manager](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/marketing-manager), at 96 listings — is more than ten times the last-30 Financial Manager count.

The closest comparator by function is [Financial Analyst](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/financial-analyst), with a posted median of **$163,000** across **99 listings**. That's a $9,500 premium over the current Financial Manager figure — an inversion of the usual seniority ladder, and another reason to weight the 99-listing number over the 8-listing one. Higher up the same list, [Machine Learning Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/machine-learning-engineer) posts $281,750 across 98 listings and [Software Engineer](https://career.thegoodapps.co/occupations/software-engineer) $240,000 across 1,123.

## Hiring context

Overall posting volume is not the constraint here. Across the boards we track, **44,145** listings went up in the last 30 days versus **12,788** in the 30 before, and 9,774 in the last 7 days against 7,098 the week prior. There were 56,933 open listings from 687 employers at last count.

So the boards got busier while the priced-listing pools for these office and management roles got thinner. The employers driving this week's volume — [AdventHealth](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/adventhealth) with 416 new, [Cleveland Clinic](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/cleveland-clinic) with 319, [Tyson Foods](https://career.thegoodapps.co/organizations/tyson-foods) with 295 — are hiring into clinical, plant and retail functions, not finance leadership.
