## What We Do

Western Digital is an American data storage company and one of the world's largest manufacturers of hard disk drives (HDDs), founded in 1970 and publicly traded (Nasdaq: WDC). It designs and produces storage solutions for personal computers, data centers, surveillance systems, and network-attached storage under brands like WD and Ultrastar. In February 2025 it spun off its flash memory/SSD business as the separate company SanDisk, leaving Western Digital focused exclusively on HDDs.
