## What We Do

Vertica is a column-oriented analytics database platform originally developed from MIT's C-Store research by Michael Stonebraker and Andrew Palmer. Founded in 2005, it has changed ownership several times, moving from Hewlett-Packard (2011) to Micro Focus (2017) to OpenText (2023), and continues to be sold as an enterprise data-warehouse product.
