Tonka is an American toy brand best known for its durable steel and plastic construction trucks, founded in 1946 as Mound Metalcraft in Mound, Minnesota. Hasbro acquired the brand in 1991 and has since licensed it out for manufacturing, most recently to Basic Fun, Inc. since 2019. Tonka was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2001.
