The Genie Company is an American manufacturer of garage door openers and related accessories, headquartered in Mt. Hope, Ohio with manufacturing in nearby Baltic, Ohio. Founded in 1923 as Alliance Manufacturing Company, it introduced its first Genie-branded garage door opener in 1954 and has been a subsidiary of Overhead Door Corporation since 1994.
