## What We Do

ScyllaDB is a database software company that develops a high-performance, distributed NoSQL database designed as a drop-in replacement for Apache Cassandra (and compatible with DynamoDB APIs), rewritten in C++ for significantly higher throughput and lower latency. It was founded in 2014 by Avi Kivity and Dor Laor, former Red Hat engineers who helped create the KVM hypervisor, and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with additional offices in Israel and Poland.
