## What We Do

Rakuten.com is the U.S. cash-back shopping rewards platform operated by Ebates Performance Marketing Inc. (d/b/a Rakuten Rewards), which Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten Group acquired in 2014 for about $1 billion. Members earn cash back for shopping at thousands of partner retailers online, in stores, and via a browser extension. (Note: an earlier, separate Rakuten.com shopping marketplace descended from Buy.com was shut down by Rakuten in 2020.)
