Patterson Companies is a value-added distributor of products, equipment, software, and services for the dental and animal health markets in North America and the U.K., originally established in 1877 as a dental supplier. It was publicly traded on Nasdaq (PDCO) until it was acquired by private equity firm Patient Square Capital for $4.1 billion in a deal that closed in April 2025, and it now operates as a private company.
