Kyocera Communications, Inc. is the U.S. mobile-phone subsidiary of Kyocera Corporation, based in San Diego, formed from the 2010 merger of Kyocera Wireless Corp. and an earlier Kyocera Communications entity that had absorbed Qualcomm's (2000) and Sanyo's (2008) handset businesses. It designs and markets mobile phones, including rugged 'Kyocera' branded devices, for wireless carriers in the U.S. and Canada.
