Dow Corning was a company specializing in silicone and silicon-based products (sealants, adhesives, lubricants) used in electronics, automotive, construction, and healthcare. Originally a 1943 joint venture between Dow Chemical and Corning Inc., Dow acquired full ownership in 2016 and renamed the company Dow Silicones Corporation in 2018; it remains a wholly owned Dow subsidiary and one of the world's largest silicone producers.
