## What We Do

Dakota Coal Company is a subsidiary of Basin Electric Power Cooperative that manages coal reserves, mining financing, and marketing of lignite coal from the Freedom Mine near Beulah, North Dakota. It supplies fuel to Basin Electric's power plants and the Dakota Gasification Company's Great Plains Synfuels Plant.
