ContiGroup Companies, now commonly known again as Continental Grain Company, is a privately held, family-owned investment firm with roots as a grain-trading business founded in 1813. It took the ContiGroup name in 1999 after selling its commodity-trading business to Cargill, and today operates as a multi-strategy investment platform focused on agribusiness and protein production across North America, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Its former poultry subsidiary Wayne Farms merged with Sanderson Farms in 2022 to form Wayne-Sanderson Farms, a joint venture with Cargill.
