Colt's Manufacturing Company is an American firearms manufacturer founded in 1855 by Samuel Colt, historically known for the Colt revolver, the M1911 pistol, and the AR-15/M16 rifle platform supplied to military, law enforcement, and civilian markets. It was reunited with its former military-sales spinoff Colt Defense LLC in 2013, went through a 2015 bankruptcy reorganization, and has been a subsidiary of the Czech firearms group Colt CZ Group (formerly Ceska zbrojovka Group) since 2021.
