CNN (Cable News Network) is an American multinational cable news channel launched in 1980 by Ted Turner as the first 24-hour all-news television network. Owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, it operates numerous international editions, digital news properties, and a global network of bureaus (a pending sale of parent Warner Bros. Discovery to Paramount Skydance had not yet closed as of mid-2026).
