American River Transportation Company (ARTCO) is a barge and towboat transportation subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland, founded in 1971 and headquartered in Decatur, Illinois. It moves grain, oilseeds, ethanol, and other bulk commodities on the Mississippi, Illinois, and Ohio Rivers for ADM and other shippers. It also operates a shipyard and, through its stevedoring division, bulk transfer and crane services near New Orleans.
