## What We Do

The Alaska Railroad is a Class II railroad operating freight and passenger service along a roughly 470-mile mainline between Seward and Fairbanks, passing through Anchorage and Denali National Park. It has been owned by the State of Alaska since it purchased the railroad from the U.S. federal government in 1985.
