## Summary

This role maintains and monitors machinery aboard commercial oil tankers, recording equipment readings and assisting engineers with repairs during multi-month sea rotations. It suits candidates with merchant marine credentials and experience in engine room operations who are comfortable working in confined spaces and harsh maritime conditions.

## Required

- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- U.S. Passport
- Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
- Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Able Seafarer – Engine endorsement
- Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Rating Forming Part of an Engineering Watch endorsement
- Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Qualified Member of the Engine Department endorsement
- Ability to be away from home for more than two months at a time
- Capacity to push/pull up to 200 pounds
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 100 pounds from floor to shoulder
- Capacity to lift from floor to overhead and transport up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs ranging from 5 to 200 feet
- Ability to perform equipment maintenance
- Willingness to work in confined spaces and extreme environmental conditions

## Nice to have

- One or more years working on crude oil tankers
- One or more years working on product tankers
- Basic Training endorsement on Merchant Mariner Credential
- Basic Oil Tanker Cargo Operations endorsement
- Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties endorsement
- Security Awareness endorsement
- Tankerman Assistant endorsement or Tankerman P.I.C.
- Willingness to work overtime
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Problem-solving orientation with attention to procedure and safety
- Organized and methodical approach to work
