## Required

- Associate degree or higher, or one year of sworn police officer experience, or three years of active duty military service, or three years of work history

- U.S. citizen or national or person owing allegiance to the U.S.
- No felony convictions and no pending criminal charges
- Valid driver's license for at least one year with excellent driving record
- At least within six months of turning 21 years old, but not yet 39 at application (with federal law enforcement retirement system exceptions)
- Mature and reliable with strong oral and written communication skills
- High standard of ethical conduct and trustworthiness
