## Required

- 7+ years backend software engineering with Scala, Java, or similar JVM language
- 7+ years designing and operating petabyte-scale distributed systems
- 3+ years with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or equivalent streaming platforms
- 3+ years building data pipelines on GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Professional experience with Finagle, gRPC, or Akka RPC frameworks
- CI/CD, Git, code review, and automated testing practices
- Experience building reusable frameworks or SDKs for other teams
- Apache Beam experience including custom transforms and windowing
- Change Data Capture patterns, especially MySQL binlog replication
- Data encryption at rest and in transit with key management
- Schema management, data governance, and data lineage frameworks at scale
- Mentoring engineers and driving technical alignment through design reviews

## Nice to have

- Knowledge of LLMs, RAG, and semantic search
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container deployment
- Experience with data catalog and data quality frameworks
