## Required

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of backend services in production
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with microservice or event-driven architectures for large-scale distributed systems
- 3+ years of object-oriented programming with Java or similar language
- Experience delivering backend services with APIs used by other teams or external clients
- Experience with observability fundamentals including logging, metrics, and alerting
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- U.S. citizenship (naturalized or native)
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government security clearance

## Nice to have

- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance
- DoD 8570/8140 compliance with IAT Level II certification and current Computing Environment credential
- Experience with Grafana Loki, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes
- Experience with AWS data services like Lambda, S3, Kinesis, or Athena
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
- Mentoring experience and ability to influence technical direction across teams
