## Required

- PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Systems Biology, or related field (or M.S. with 2+ years experience)
- U.S. Citizenship
- Research experience designing and optimizing microbial metabolic networks using constraint-based modeling
- Demonstrated collaboration between computational modeling and experimental validation of strains
- Applied metabolic engineering to microbial hosts such as E. coli, Corynebacterium, or yeast
- Peer-reviewed publications and dissertation work in metabolic engineering and computational modeling
- Proficiency in constraint-based metabolic modeling with COBRA toolbox in Python or MATLAB

## Nice to have

- Knowledge of dynamic flux balance analysis (dFBA) or kinetic metabolic pathway modeling
- Understanding of molecular biology techniques for strain engineering including CRISPR/Cas9 and Gibson Assembly
- Experience with high-throughput scripting, Python, R, or MATLAB automation and pipeline workflows
- Familiarity with bioreactor operation modes (batch, fed-batch, continuous) and bioprocess parameters
- Experience integrating transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data into metabolic models
- Knowledge of commercial bioprocess applications and scale-up from lab to pilot-scale bioreactors
- Prior wet-lab experience in microbial strain construction
