## Required

- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 20 years experience in research, applied science, or product development (or Ph.D. with minimum 15 years)
- Senior-level technical leadership experience
- Experience informing business or innovation strategy
- Ability to lead complex, ambiguous research initiatives with minimal direction
- Strong strategic thinking and systems-level perspective
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to translate customer, technical, and business requirements into innovative solutions
- Experience leading technical collaborations with internal teams and external partners
- Track record of hands-on technical contribution combined with thought leadership and mentorship
- Strong judgment in assessing technical and business risk
- Willingness to travel up to 10% annually

## Nice to have

- M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering field
- Experience in regulated industries or complex electromechanical or healthcare-adjacent products
- Demonstrated success with modeling, simulation, and experimentation for system design
- History of external technical engagement through publications, patents, presentations, or industry collaboration
- Business or strategy training such as MBA or equivalent experience in innovation and technology commercialization
