## Summary

As a Senior Backend Engineer on Identity & Access Management, you'll design and operate authentication systems that protect customer access to LaunchDarkly's platform—handling everything from single sign-on and MFA to API key management. This role suits experienced backend engineers with a proven track record building secure, highly-available systems and the judgment to make careful changes in infrastructure where mistakes are costly.

## Required

- 6+ years professional software engineering experience
- Experience building or operating production authentication and identity systems
- Proven track record on systems requiring high correctness and availability
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Rust, Python, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent)
- Strong production ownership and on-call experience

## Nice to have

- Protocol depth in SAML, OIDC/OAuth2, or SCIM
- Integration experience with identity providers (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, OneLogin, Ping)
- Experience with MFA, WebAuthn, RBAC, or authorization policy engines
- Experience with audit logging at multi-tenant scale
- Engineering under compliance regimes (SOC 2, FedRAMP)
