- Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, aerospace engineering, or related technical discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience in materials engineering
- Demonstrated expertise in material selection, characterization, qualification, testing, and failure analysis
- Experience across multiple material systems: metals, soft goods, coatings, powder metallurgy, welding, heat treatment
- Proficiency with metallography, microscopy, and mechanical testing techniques
- Track record of material and process decisions validated through flight or high-reliability hardware programs
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident or eligible for required ITAR authorization

## Nice to have

- Master's degree or PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, or related field
- Experience architecting M&P programs for rocket systems across full development lifecycle
- Familiarity with ASTM, NASA, AWS industry standards
- Expertise in fracture mechanics, corrosion control, statistics, and failure analysis
