## Required

- 7+ years backend or infrastructure engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed data systems and OLAP/query engine architecture
- Hands-on experience building or extending analytical systems
- Track record of driving cloud infrastructure cost optimization at scale
- Strong distributed systems fundamentals: partitioning, replication, consistency, failover
- Data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization knowledge
- Production experience with modern cloud platforms and tools
- Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python
- Demonstrated technical influence beyond immediate team through design and mentorship

## Nice to have

- Experience with specific OLAP engines: Druid, ClickHouse, Presto/Trino, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar
- Deep JVM expertise including GC tuning and memory optimization at production scale
- Columnar data format and encoding experience: Arrow, Parquet, ORC
- Familiarity with product analytics, experimentation platforms, or event-driven data systems
- Open-source data infrastructure contributions or published data systems research
