- JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- Practical problem-solving in fast-changing technical work
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills
- Technical fluency and ability to work in ambiguous legal territory
- Familiarity with EU AI Act, U.S. AI frameworks, GDPR/CCPA, and comparable global regimes

## Nice to have

- At least 8 years of legal experience advising technology companies on copyright, privacy, data, and AI regulation
- Experience engaging directly with regulators or standards bodies
- Working technical literacy in how models are trained, evaluated, and deployed
- Academic or publishing background, or experience with copyright and data licensing
- Experience with biosecurity, dual-use research, export controls, or safety frameworks
- Experience advising on academic or industry research, publications, and collaborations
