## Required

- 10+ years designing and building large-scale distributed backend systems
- Extensive hands-on Java experience including Spring/Spring Boot and event-driven architectures
- Experience in risk, security, safety, identity, access, financial flows, or compliance systems
- Service and API design expertise with strong understanding of performance optimization and fault tolerance
- Cloud-native services experience on AWS or GCP including containers and Kubernetes
- Ability to integrate ML models into production systems
- Observability and operations expertise including metrics, logs, alerting, and SLOs
- Knowledge of secure coding, authentication/authorization, and privacy-aware design
- Track record of cross-team collaboration with Product, Data Science, and Business teams
- Experience influencing architecture across multiple teams and leading design reviews
- Ability to mentor other engineers in software engineering and system design
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

## Nice to have

- Familiarity with modern AI/LLM tooling and patterns for automation and classification
- Experience in compliance-oriented systems
- Experience working in globally distributed, matrixed environments
