## Summary

This role builds Torc's web-based annotation platform for autonomous vehicle data, handling the interactive 2D/3D editors and backend services that transform multi-sensor recordings into labeled datasets for training. You'll work across high-performance graphics, data pipelines, and ML workflows at the intersection of software engineering and computer vision.

## Required

- Strong TypeScript and React proficiency with shipped production web applications
- Browser-based 3D graphics experience (three.js, WebGL) or strong graphics fundamentals with demonstrated ability to learn quickly
- Production-grade Python backend services and API development
- Experience with large sensor datasets (point clouds, imagery, video) and performance optimization
- PostgreSQL proficiency for label and metadata storage
- AWS services for hosting and deployment
- Git and GitHub version control workflows
- Software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in a related field plus 0-3+ years of experience

## Nice to have

- Point cloud rendering and streaming formats (octree/LOD, Potree, COPC, 3D Tiles, LAS/LAZ)
- Experience building or extending annotation or labeling tools
- Robotics data and visualization ecosystems (Rerun, Foxglove, MCAP, ROS bags)
- Machine learning workflows for perception (object detection, tracking, segmentation, auto-labeling)
- Multi-view geometry and sensor calibration knowledge
- HD maps and map formats (OpenDRIVE, NDS, Lanelet2)
- PostGIS or spatial geometry operations
- Databricks or large-scale data processing platforms
- Open-source contributions in graphics, geospatial, annotation, or data engineering
