- Successful completion of Basic Immigration Law Enforcement Training (ICE_BIETP, ICE_D, IOBTC, USBPI, CBP OBT, or equivalent)
- Must be a retired federal annuitant (CSRS or FERS) rehired under dual compensation waiver
- Pass physical fitness test
- Pass pre-employment medical examination
- Satisfactorily complete firearms training component
- Willingness to carry a firearm and maintain proficiency
- Must accept offered duty location or be removed from consideration
