A Forward-Deployed Engineer embeds with strategic enterprise customers to build and ship production integrations, voice agents, and tooling that connect Deepgram's voice AI platform to the systems customers actually run. This role suits strong backend engineers who thrive in ambiguity, enjoy deep customer relationships, and want to see their work running in real-world environments while growing rapidly alongside a senior mentor.

## Required

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent demonstrated record of shipped work
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying backend systems in production
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and API design
- Proactive problem recognition and care about impact of work
- Genuine relationship building with colleagues and customers
- Ability to read social dynamics in meetings and notice what is unsaid
- Act on customer needs when you spot them
- Openness to feedback and appetite to learn customer-facing craft

## Nice to have

- Experience working with audio or voice interfaces
- Experience building systems integrating many third-party APIs, especially point-of-sale systems
- Experience taking a system from zero to one
- Deep expertise in one or more modern programming languages with flexibility to learn others
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes containerization
- Prior experience as the technical person presenting to non-technical audiences
