## Summary

Anthropic is seeking an engineering manager to lead a team building security controls for AI training hardware as the company expands into owned and partner data centers. This role suits someone with deep expertise in firmware, hardware, and OS security who has managed security or systems engineers and can navigate complex trade-offs between security, performance, and vendor relationships.

## Required

- 10+ years in systems security with at least 5 years in firmware, hardware, or OS-level security
- 5+ years managing security or systems engineers, including senior and staff-level hires
- Deep technical knowledge of secure boot, measured boot, TPM, attestation protocols, UEFI, BMC firmware, and Linux kernel hardening
- End-to-end technical roadmap ownership with security and performance trade-off decisions
- Direct experience with silicon vendors, OEMs, or cloud providers on security requirements and remediation
- Clear technical writing for design reviews, risk assessments, and executive communication
- Ability to build team and processes from early stage with scope broader than headcount

## Nice to have

- Experience managing mixed teams of full-time engineers, contractors, and vendor engineers
- Hands-on OpenBMC, DRTM, or confidential computing background
- Upstream contributions or maintainership in Linux, OpenBMC, or standing in TCG, UEFI Forum, OCP
- Large-scale HPC or AI training infrastructure security experience
- Firmware vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or fuzzing background
- Coordinated vulnerability disclosure experience with hardware or firmware vendors
