## Required

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating data infrastructure or backend systems
- Solid foundation in distributed systems or data infrastructure
- Experience owning a project or significant component end to end
- Strong technical communication, especially in writing
- Sound judgment on technical tradeoffs informed by production experience
- High ownership and accountability

## Nice to have

- Languages: Go, C/C++, Python, SQL
- Experience with distributed systems concepts like sharding, replication, distributed scheduling
- Knowledge of columnar formats, indexing, and compression
- Familiarity with distributed caching, admission policies, and tiered storage
- Performance engineering and profiling experience
- GCP experience or equivalent AWS/Azure
- Observability, SLOs, and incident management experience
- Experience with AI-augmented engineering tools
