## Required

- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Large-scale distributed systems in production
- Deep hands-on expertise with Envoy and/or Istio or equivalent service mesh/API gateway architectures
- Systems-level programming in Go and/or Java
- Experience designing authentication/authorization systems for high-throughput security-sensitive traffic
- Track record leading incident response and root-cause analysis for P1 production issues
- AWS networking and infrastructure experience
- Ability to lead technically without direct reports

## Nice to have

- Direct experience building or operating infrastructure for AI agent traffic or MCP
- eBPF-based traffic capture or observability tooling
- WASM or Go-based Envoy extension development
- FMEA methodology, chaos engineering, or Game Day resiliency practices
- Experience operating on critical path platform teams with rigorous rollout discipline
