## Required

- 5+ years building billing, payments, metering, or financial data systems in SaaS or usage-based pricing
- Strong backend engineering in Rust and at least one of Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Go
- Deep experience with relational databases and data pipeline design at scale
- Hands-on integration experience with billing platforms and CRM systems
- Understanding of usage-based pricing models and edge cases like proration and overages
- Experience building reconciliation and data integrity systems for financial accuracy
- Strong communication and partnership skills across Finance, RevOps, Product, and Growth teams
- Security-conscious mindset around authentication, token management, and access control

## Nice to have

- Experience with M3ter or Metronome specifically, or building custom metering systems
- Familiarity with product-led growth patterns and self-serve signup flows
- Event-driven architecture experience with Kafka or similar high-throughput systems
- Background in revenue operations, revenue recognition, or SOX-relevant controls
- Experience with analytics/BI tools like Looker, Metabase, or dbt
- Prior work at scale where billing accuracy directly impacted customer trust and revenue
