## Summary

This role builds and maintains the services that power Vercel's global CDN, focusing on caching architecture and content delivery across 20+ regions. You'll work on performance-critical infrastructure serving billions of requests, progressing from well-scoped projects to larger system ownership while learning how planet-scale CDN systems work.

Amazon ElastiCache, Amazon S3, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Datadog, Go, HTTP, Kubernetes, Lua, Next.js, Node.js, Terraform, TypeScript

## Required

- 2+ years building and operating backend services in production
- Proficiency in Go, TypeScript/Node.js, or comparable systems language
- Understanding of HTTP and web fundamentals including caching headers and proxy behavior
- Tested, instrumented, and well-documented code
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar code and production data independently
- Clear communication and reliable collaboration

## Nice to have

- Experience with caching systems (CDNs, Redis, Memcached)
- AWS experience, particularly S3 or ElastiCache
- Experience with Next.js or modern web frameworks and rendering modes (SSR/SSG/ISR)
- Observability tooling experience (Datadog, Honeycomb, or similar)
- Terraform or Kubernetes experience
