Crusoe Cloud is seeking an experienced distributed systems engineer to design and operate the network control plane that manages edge, backbone, and data center infrastructure as the company scales its cloud services. This role suits someone who enjoys solving hard scalability problems, mentoring peers, and taking ownership of mission-critical infrastructure that directly enables rapid network operations.

## Required

- 5+ years professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python)
- Understanding of distributed systems concepts (consensus, state reconciliation, fault tolerance, high availability)
- Track record designing and building scalable, reliable APIs or services used by multiple teams
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tooling
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction

## Nice to have

- Experience with networking software, protocols, or control plane systems (routing, switching, BGP, SDN)
- Experience at a cloud provider, hyperscaler, or large scale data center operator
- Familiarity with network telemetry/management protocols (gNMI, gRPC, NETCONF)
- Experience with Kubernetes based orchestration or building custom controllers/operators
- Contributions to open source infrastructure or networking projects
