## Summary

This role builds Deepgram's decision layer—the semantic models and metrics infrastructure that customers and AI agents use to ask questions and get reliable answers about their voice AI usage. You'll own the data modeling, metric definitions, and agent-facing tools that sit above the warehouse, working on a brand-new team where correctness and clarity are as important as code.

Amazon Athena, Apache Iceberg, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Model Context Protocol (MCP), Python, Rubik's Cube, SQL

## Required

- Daily, substantive use of AI tools integrated into your work
- Production-grade SQL and Python code that ships on schedule
- Ownership experience with a semantic or metrics layer (dbt, Cube, LookML or equivalent)
- Data modeling judgment: reasoning about grain and keys before writing queries
- Ability to work in unfinished infrastructure without a formal process or ticket queue
- Clear technical writing that defines contracts others trust

## Nice to have

- Experience with usage-based or consumption business models
- Real-time billing and consumption systems
- Lakehouse architecture experience (Iceberg, Athena, Trino)
- Open-source contributions to data or AI projects
