## Required

- 12+ years building and owning data platform architecture
- Evidence of setting technical direction without direct authority
- Deep GCP and BigQuery expertise
- Operational fluency in AWS and EKS
- Experience with dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Databricks, and Spark at platform scale
- Event streaming in production at scale including schema registry and data contracts
- Data governance and compliance in regulated environments including HIPAA and PHI handling
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform or equivalent
- Strong Python and SQL for production pipeline code
- Technical writing that creates organizational alignment

## Nice to have

- Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Delta Lake in production at scale
- CDC patterns and Flink for real-time processing across analytics and production
- PySpark and SparkSQL for large-scale workloads
- BigQuery to Databricks migration or equivalent warehouse migration led end-to-end

- Go or Python service development for Kafka producers and consumers
- Direct-to-consumer healthcare or telehealth experience with HIPAA and GDPR
- SOX compliance controls in a data engineering context
