- 5+ years in formal security or engineering management, including managing senior engineers
- Experience transforming security from gatekeeper to team ownership with measurable results
- Experience managing security incidents end-to-end at a SaaS company, including external communications
- Ability to guide teams through technical tradeoffs and develop senior engineers' careers
- Track and drive security metrics with understanding of their limitations
- Familiarity with AWS security at scale
- Experience as a participant or control owner in external audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP)
- Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

## Nice to have

- Prior experience as second leader to a director or CISO
- Background as a Senior or Staff security engineer before management
