## Summary

Spot & Tango seeks a hands-on industrial refrigeration technician for their freeze-drying facility to maintain ammonia and HFC refrigeration systems that run 24/7 in a food production environment. This role demands deep technical expertise in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of complex refrigeration infrastructure where equipment uptime directly impacts manufacturing operations and food safety.

## Required

- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years industrial refrigeration experience in food manufacturing or freeze drying
- Refrigeration journeyman certification or equivalent technical training
- Hands-on experience with ammonia and HFC refrigeration systems
- Advanced troubleshooting of rack refrigeration systems and controls
- Experience with compressors, evaporative condensers, pumps, valves, and process equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and refrigeration diagrams
- US EPA Universal certification
- Basic knowledge of instrumentation and industrial control logic
- Fluent written and verbal English
- Computer and PC software competency
- Ability to work independently in high-demand manufacturing environment
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, work at height, and tolerate noise, dust, and temperature extremes
- Ability to work with food allergens and follow GMP requirements

## Nice to have

- RETA certification or state refrigeration license
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration safety programs and PSM-regulated systems
- Associate degree in technical discipline
- Food manufacturing background
- Freeze drying or industrial process refrigeration experience
- HACCP and GMP knowledge
- Troubleshooting skills for AC/DC electrical circuits and power/logic equipment
- CMMS and predictive maintenance technology experience
