- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building systems with large language models including agents or tool use
- Experience working on technical problems in science or engineering fields
- Track record of zero-to-one work in startup or startup-like environments
- Ability to work directly with expert users and understand their workflows
- Good judgment about what can and cannot be verified
- Clear communication with researchers, engineers, and external partners

## Nice to have

- Advanced degree or research experience in a physical science or engineering field
- Hands-on experience with scientific computing, simulation, numerical methods, or optimization
- Experience in industrial R&D, national labs, or deep-tech companies in energy, materials, or hardware
- Experience building alongside customers or technical partners in forward-deployed or solutions engineering roles
- Experience with ML research, RL environments, or evaluation design
