Korfball is a mixed-gender team sport, invented in the Netherlands in 1902, played with a ball and a basket-like goal (korf) mounted on a post, combining elements of basketball and netball. Teams of four men and four women per side score by shooting the ball through the korf, with rules like restricting defense to same-gender opponents and rotating attacking and defending zones to emphasize teamwork and gender equity.
