# Horizontal Bar

The horizontal bar, or high bar, is a men's artistic gymnastics apparatus consisting of a single steel rail set high above the ground and held in place by wires. Gymnasts perform continuous swinging movements, releases, and pirouettes around the bar without pausing, culminating in a dismount, making it one of the most dynamic and injury-prone events in gymnastics.
