Arimaa is an abstract strategy board game invented in 2002 by Omar Syed, specifically designed to have simple rules easy for humans to learn while being very difficult for computer programs to play well. It is played on an 8x8 board with pieces of varying strength (elephant, camel, horses, dogs, cats, rabbits) that push and pull opponents' pieces. It attracts board-game enthusiasts interested in games engineered to resist brute-force computer analysis.
